Wayne Ward

Wayne's landscaping career started the way the best ones do — behind a lawn mower, learning from his grandfather on summer visits to Gloucester, Virginia. What began as a lesson in hard work grew into a 25-year passion for transforming outdoor spaces into something people are proud of.

A Newport News native who finished high school at Tallwood in Virginia Beach, Wayne jumped straight into the industry after graduation and never looked back. He worked his way up through the ranks the old-fashioned way — showing up, outworking everyone around him, and consistently delivering results that exceeded what clients expected.

Over the course of his career, Wayne has worn just about every hat in the business, from crew member to supervisor to project manager. He's also taken his skills on the road, lending his talents across Texas, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina in the wake of major storms — operating heavy equipment, managing large-scale tree removal, and helping communities recover when they needed it most. That kind of experience builds a well-rounded operator.

Wayne joined the EarthScapes team in June 2026 as a Residential Production Manager, and he brings with him the same standards of quality and professionalism he's built his reputation on. He's excited to grow within the company and make a real impact — both for our clients and the team members he leads.

When he's not on the job, Wayne is behind the decks — literally. He DJs parties, family reunions, and cookouts, and he gets the same satisfaction from bringing people together that he does from delivering a flawless landscape. It's all about the craft and the people.
