Ben Hewlett

     Ben hails from Cleburne , Texas. Graduating from Texas A&M in 1991 with a Bachelors double degree in History and Political-Science. Commissioned in the United States Navy upon graduation, he flew S-3B Vikings and F/A-18 Hornets for the Navy for 26 years retiring in 2017 with over 4,000 hours and over 800 carrier landings. He had squadron command of Strike Fighter Squadron 131 (VFA-131 Wildcats) at NAS Oceana, Virginia and held major command as CAG, commanding Carrier Air Wing ONE (CVW-1) on board USS Theodore Roosevelt for Operation Inherent Resolve over Iraq and Syria in 2015 - 2016.

     Growing up on a farm in Texas, Ben learned the basics of the landscaping profession and in 1991 he worked a summer job at small landscape company in New Hampshire just before he married to his high school sweetheart, Cristin. His entry into landscaping profession began in 2012 when he founded Lawn-Aid with his long time friend and fellow Naval Aviator, Trey White, and grew that company from a small residential one-crew company to a multi-crew, commercial and residential, company and expanded operations into hardscape installations. 

     Ben earned his Masters in Business Administration from American Military University and is a co-founder of a non-profit charity organization, Virginia Beach Veterans Give Back. He lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and children.
